PH records 9,226 new COVID-19 infections; 10,809 recoveries

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) has recorded 9,226 new COVID-19 infections on Saturday,  bringing the total number of active cases to 72,248.

The DOH also recorded an additional 10,809 recoveries on Saturday, pushing the total number of COVID-19 recoveries to 957,051.

Some 120 more patients succumbed to the disease bringing the total COVID-19 fatalities to 17,354.

The DOH also said 33 duplicates were removed from the total case count of which 22 are recoveries.

There were 54 cases previously tagged as recoveries that were reclassified as deaths after final validation.

The DOH said four laboratories were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System.
