Sara Duterte’s trip to Singapore for ‘personal health management’
MANILA, Philippines — Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio on Wednesday disclosed that her trip to Singapore was for “personal health management.”
The presidential daughter also said in a statement that she is on leave from April 6 until Saturday, April 10. Vice Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte would take over the reins as acting mayor while her sister is away.
“The reason is personal health management. All protocols for return to Davao City including RT-PCR [reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction] testing & 14-day quarantine have all been pre-arranged,” she further said.
Earlier, she confirmed flying to Singapore on Tuesday but refused to say the purpose of her travel.
Duterte-Carpio noted she secured a travel authority from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) to fly to Singapore.
In September last year, the Davao City mayor also took a week-long medical leave.
