Woman goes missing on vacation where boyfriend was planning to propose
A woman visiting South Florida went missing while on vacation with her boyfriend, who was planning to propose to her on their trip.
Angela Morrisey, 23, was near a shopping center in Miami with her boyfriend Amir El-Badry on March 28 when she disappeared, ABC affiliated Local News 10 said in a report on April 3.
El-Badry said they were visiting from California because he wanted to have a romantic setting for when he asks for Morrisey’s hand in marriage. He found a tour boat near the shopping center that he thought was the best location for his proposal.
“I really came out here because I wanted a romantic setting, because I was going to propose to her,” he was quoted as saying. “We were in line for the boat and she went to go use the restroom and I just didn’t see her after that.”
El-Badry expressed hope that his girlfriend is safe and that she comes back home soon. He said Morrisey has not gone days without contacting him or her mother.

“The situation of what they were told was a little bit different than what he told me,” Melancon told the news outlet.
She said El-Baldry’s statements “don’t make sense” and had many inconsistencies. Investigators also found El-Badry suspicious and had him do a recorded interview, as per a CBS Miami report on April 5.
Melancon added that her daughter texted her throughout her vacation, but abruptly stopped contact on March 28. She also said she was worried for Morrisey’s children who have been asking for their mother every day since she went missing. Dana Cruz/JB
