Corinthian Gardens fire leaves 5 dead
MANILA, Philippines — Five people were killed in a fire that broke out early Saturday in a two-story house inside the upscale Corinthian Gardens Subdivision in Quezon City.
A report from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the blaze reached the first alarm at 1:57 a.m. and was then raised to the 2nd alarm at 2:18 a.m.
The BFP managed to put out the fire at 5:25 a.m.
The fatalities were identified by the BFP as Gilbert Yu, 65; Charlito Yu, 62; Rita Yu, 57; Ryan Yu and Abegail Yu.
Meanwhile, the BFP added that three other family members were injured in the fire.
Article continues after this advertisementDamage caused by the fire was placed by the BFP at around P60 million. The BFP is still investigating what triggered the blaze.
