DOJ on lockdown anew after 7 employees get COVID-19

MANILA, Philippines — Work at the Department of Justice’s main office and nearby annexes is again suspended after seven more of its employees tested positive of COVID-19.

The total active case now among employees of the department is now at 17.

“I am constrained to order another suspension of on-site work at the DOJ. We’ll lockdown again starting tomorrow (Friday) till Tuesday,” Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said.

He said there will be skeleton staff that will receive documents and attend to frontline service.

The rest, he said “will work from home.”

Last week, the DOJ also suspended work at the DOJ to give way to disinfection and sanitation. Work has just resumed on Wednesday.
