14 cockpits allowed to resume operations in Cavite
LUCENA CITY –– At least 14 cockpits were allowed to resume cockfighting in Cavite province with temporary permits given by Gov. Jonvic Remulla.
On Monday, Feb. 1, Remulla issued Executive Order No. 2 – series 2021 that allows the temporary operation of licensed cockpits in Tagaytay City, Cavite City, Bacoor City, Dasmariñas City, General Trias City, and the towns of Kawit, Ternate, Tanza, Alfonso, Indang, Naic, and Silang.
Each of the cockpits has been given their respective schedules of operations that started Tuesday, Feb. 2, and will last until March 31.
The Provincial Information and Communication Affairs Department (Picad Cavite) posted a copy of the EO card on its Facebook page.
Cavite remains under modified general community quarantine, the government’s most lenient quarantine status, until Feb. 28.
In October last year, the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases allowed cockfighting to resume in areas under MGCQ.
