Marijuana plants worth P2.32M destroyed in Kalinga

TUGUEGARAO CITY –– Authorities destroyed at least P2.32-million worth of fully grown marijuana plants in an anti-narcotics operation in Kalinga province last weekend.

A 1.1-hectare plantation was discovered at Barangay Buscalan in Tinglayan town on Jan. 27-28, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Kalinga.

Joel Plaza, regional director of PDEA-Cagayan Valley, said about 11,000 marijuana plants were destroyed during the operation, but no one was caught in the plantation.
