58 nabbed in 40 buy-bust operations in Cavite, says police
LUCENA CITY – At least 58 suspected drug pushers were arrested by police in 40 separate buy-bust operations during a 24-hour synchronized anti-criminality and law enforcement drive in the province of Cavite on Friday and Saturday.
At least three alleged drug pushers were killed in the shootouts that ensued in a few of the buy-bust operations.
Police Colonel Marlon Santos, Cavite police chief, in a report identified the slain suspects as Reymark Chaves (killed in Bacoor City bust), Jomarie Hara (General Trias City), and Jeffrie Cornejo (General Mariano Alvarez town).
The report did not provide details about the alleged armed encounters between policemen and the slain suspects except for the places where the supposed shooting incidents happened.
The police also seized a total of 186 plastic sachets of shabu (crystal meth) and five sachets of marijuana from the operations. The volume of confiscated illegal drugs was not specified in the report.
Police operatives also nabbed 28 wanted criminals who include eight in the most wanted list in the Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) and municipal levels.
