Elderly woman shot dead inside store in Nueva Ecija
ZARAGOZA, Nueva Ecija — A 64-year-old woman was killed while a 14-year-old boy was wounded in an evening gun attack by two still unidentified men here on Saturday, Jan. 16, police said.
Investigators identified the fatality as Julie Ramos, a resident of Benitez Subdivision in Barangay Concepcion. She died instantly while the minor was taken to a hospital in Cabanatuan City for treatment.
Ramos was tending to her store when the motorcycle-riding gunmen pretended as customers and shot her several times around 7 p.m., police said. The boy was hit by a stray bullet.
Forensic investigators recovered several spent shells from caliber .45 and 9mm pistols from the crime scene.
Police are still trying to determine the motive behind the killing.
