A worker has earned praises from police after finding large amounts of cocaine while installing an electricity meter in a house in South Shields, United Kingdom.

Authorities inspected the said home on Dec. 3 after the worker (name withheld) reported the discovery to the department. The tenant was not at home when the team arrived, the Northumbria Police said in a statement last Tuesday, Dec. 8.

Officers eventually found that the large amount of cocaine was already placed into smaller bags. They also noted that the drugs were collectively worth around 15,000 pounds ($19,900 or P958,000).

The team located a set of scales and other drug-related items inside the house as well. After the inspection, the officers arrested a 39-year-old man on suspicion of possessing a controlled drug with the intent to supply.

The department then praised the worker for reporting the drugs.
