Llamas apologizes to gov’t, public for ‘embarrassing’ pirated DVD purchase
MANILA, Philippines — After apologizing to President Benigno Aquino III, presidential political adviser Ronald Llamas apologized to the government for “any difficulty and unintended embarrassment” for his purchase of pirated DVDs last week.
Llamas issued a statement on Monday saying he has apologized to President Aquino “for the impropriety and lack of discretion as well as the unintended embarrassment” his actions.
He promised to “exercise more care and prudence in his actions in the future.”
Llamas submitted on Monday his reply to a January 27 memorandum issued to him by Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr., instructing him to reply within five days or by February 1 why he should not face administrative disciplinary proceedings for his actions.
