Pagasa issues Metro Manila thunderstorm warning

MANILA, Philippines — Thunderstorms may prevail in Metro Manila within the next 12 hours, the weather bureau warned on Monday morning.

In its 10 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said thunderstorms are “more likely” to develop in Metro Manila within 12 hours.

It advised residents to continue monitoring for updates.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 is still up  over Metro Manila and neighboring provinces due to Tropical Storm Rolly.

In Pagasa’s 5 a.m. severe weather bulletin, Rolly was located 100 kilometers west southwest of Subic Bay.

It had maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center with a gustiness reaching up to 80 kph as it moved west-northwest at 20 kph.
