PH COVID-19 cases hit 376,935
MANILA, Philippines — There are now 376,935 total COVID-19 cases in the Philippines after 1,761 new infections were recorded, the Department of Health (DOH) reported Thursday.
The DOH added that of the total cases, 39,940 are active cases, of which 83.3 percent are mild, 10.9 percent are asymptomatic, 3.7 percent are critical, and 2.1 percent are severe.
The top area with the most number of new infections was Quezon City, with 85 cases, followed by Rizal with 74, Caloocan City with 73, Davao City with 70, and Laguna with 69.
The DOH logged 740 new recoveries and 33 additional fatalities, bringing the total to 329,848 and 7,147, respectively.
There were six duplicates, of which three were recovered cases that were removed from the total case count. [ac]
