Negros Occidental prov’l office advised to pay casual workers’ wages promptly
BACOLOD CITY –– The Negros Occidental provincial accounting office was warned yesterday not to delay the payment of job order (JO) employees.
“I asked that they ensure that the JOs are paid at the soonest possible time,” said Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz.
“It is unjust to these people to delay their salaries even for a day,” he added.
The salaries of 57 job order casuals at the Mambukal Resort in Murcia has been delayed since July.
Diaz said he asked the accounting office to list the requirements that need to be met to hasten the payment.
“It appears the delay has been caused by mere technicalities,” he said.
