MANILA, Philippines – The defense team said Thursday that they have filed a motion for inhibition on certain senator-judges.

Its spokesman, Lawyer Tranquil Salvador III, said that the motion was received by the secretariat.

He refused to disclose who they were referring to, saying that they did not want to pre-empt the impeachment court’s decision.

He also did not reveal the number of senator-judges they would want to inhibit from the trial but said that they cited up to three allegations as bases for their petition for inhibition.

Salvador said that the senator-judges would decide in a caucus if they would act on the motion, which he added, could take time.
