Nueva Ecija logs 20 new COVID-19 cases with 2 deaths

CABANATUAN CITY –– Twenty new cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were recorded in Nueva Ecija on Sunday, raising the province’s tally to 282, a report from the provincial inter-agency task force showed.

Of the new cases, two had reportedly died, bringing to 14 the number of COVID-19-related fatalities in Nueva Ecija.

The latest deaths were those of a 49-year-old man from Barangay Bantug in Talavera town and an 88-year-old woman from Kap. Pepe Subd. in Barangay Kap. Pepe of this city.

This city also recorded the highest number of fresh cases at eight, while Palayan City, San Jose City, and the municipality of San Antonio had two each.

The six other cases were logged in the municipalities of Rizal, Quezon, Santa Rosa, San Leonardo, Bongabon, and Peñaranda at one each.

A total of 124 recoveries were also logged in the province as of Sunday, the task force said.
