CEBU CITY –– Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia tested negative for the new coronavirus disease (COVID19).
Her swab test result was released on Facebook by Sugbu News, the information portal of the provincial government, on Monday (August 10).
Garcia underwent a reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test last August 6, days after she was with her brother and Barili town Mayor Marlon Garcia.
In her speech during the 451st founding anniversary of Cebu province last week, Garcia announced that Marlon contracted COVID-19.
The governor was with her brother during the opening of tourism activities in Barili town last August 2.
