For third straight year, Joyce Bernal to direct Duterte’s SONA
MANILA, Philippines — Director Joyce Bernal will once again be in charge of directing President Rodrigo Duterte’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) this year.
This was announced Wednesday by Presidential Broadcast Staff-Radio Television Malacañang (PBS-RTVM) representative Demic Pabalan in a press briefing held days before Duterte’s SONA on July 27.
Bernal, known for her blockbuster films in the comedy and romantic comedy genre, will be directing the SONA for the third straight year.

When she first directed SONA in 2018, Bernal said she directed the event for free.
