MEN ON BIKE KILLS MAN

A MAN was shot dead by two motorcycle-riding men in Cebu City’s pier area last Tuesday afternoon.

Joselito Ramirez, 30, a resident of barangay San Roque, Cebu City, was crossing the corner of S. Osmeña and Palma Streets when a motorcycle with two men on board stopped near him.

The backrider got off, approached the victim and shot him several times. The assailants drove off after the attack.

TANOD DIES IN ROAD MISHAP

A BARANGAY tanod was killed after he was hit by a sports utility vehicle (SUV) while driving a mountainbike in barangay Poblacion, Oslob town, southern Cebu.

Crispino Borbon Sr., who was believed in his early 60s, suffered severe head injuries. He was declared dead when he was brought to the Oslob District Hospital.

Borbon was driving a mountainbike that was hit from behind by a Mitsubishi Fuzion driven by John Michael Catipay, 26.

PO2 William Cordova of the Oslob police said Borbon attempted to cross to the other lane of the road but hesitated and went back to the right lane when he was hit by the SUV.

Borbon was thrown off the mountain bike and landed hard on the concrete pavement.

SALESMAN ROBBED IN BALAMBAN

A 50-YEAR-OLD salesman reported to the police that he was robbed by armed men in barangay Pundol, Balamban town, Cebu, yesterday afternoon.

Peter Go, a senior salesman of the Mandaue City-based PMFTC Inc., told police that the robbers took his belt bag containing P25,000 in collection money and his wallet with P2,500.

On board an Isuzu van, Go delivered boxes of cigarettes to a convenience store along with driver Eric Degolacion, 34, and Ernesto Apoc, 58.

Go said he was standing outside the van waiting for the payment when two men in a Honda XRM motorcycle arrived.

The backrider disembarked and grabbed Go’s belt bag. Go said the driver had a handgun tucked in his waist.

The robbers fled toward Toledo City.
