PNP tells personnel to observe online etiquette

/ 04:31 AM May 12, 2020

MANILA, Philippines — It’s the Philippine National Police’s turn to remind its personnel to mind their online manners. Several days after the Armed Forces of the Philippines told its officers and men to behave properly on social media, PNP chief Archie Gamboa called on all policemen to observe “cyberetiquette.”

Gamboa reiterated the PNP policy on social networking sites where “all personnel must observe proper decorum in all public engagements including social media platforms, chat groups, and private sites.”

The reminder covers all PNP uniformed and nonuniformed personnel. Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac, PNP spokesperson, told the Inquirer that police officers who violate the policy face administrative sanctions.
