QC opens condiment refilling store

/ 05:18 AM February 28, 2020

After banning the use and distribution of single-use plastic in Quezon City, the local government opened on Wednesday its first refilling station to help address plastic pollution in the city.

The “Bring Your Own Bote Store” (BYOB) of the Small Business and Cooperatives Development Promotions Office encourages local residents to bring reusable bottles and refill them with condiments, such as vinegar, soy sauce and cooking oil.

Consumers can refill their reusable, clean and food-safe containers at the BYOB store with condiments of up to 2 kilograms.

The store is located inside the Quezon City Hall compound and will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. —Mariejo S. Ramos
