DID YOU KNOW: Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week

/ 05:02 AM November 21, 2019

Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week is observed every third week of November by virtue of Proclamation No. 124 signed by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in 2001. The observation was placed under the auspices of the Dangerous Drugs Board. The proclamation highlights the need to increase awareness and understanding of the adverse effects of drug abuse not only on the health of the people but also on the social, economic and even political development of the country. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
