Gov’t agencies asked to submit pledges on carbon emissions

/ 05:02 AM November 21, 2019

The Climate Change Commission, the lead policymaking body on measures involving climate change, has appealed to concerned government agencies to fast-track their submission of pledges in compliance with the Paris accord. So far, only the Department of Transportation has sent its pledge, which will form part of the country’s contribution to help limit global carbon emissions. Sectors required to submit their pledges include agriculture, waste, industry, transport, forestry and energy. In 2015, the Philippines pledged to reduce emissions by 70 percent by 2030.—JHESSET O.ENANO
