4 suspected car thieves slain
PLARIDEL, Bulacan, Philippines — Four suspected car thieves were killed in a reported shootout with the police here at dawn on Sunday.
Col. Chito Bersaluna, Bulacan police director, said the suspects refused to stop when flagged down by policemen in Barangay Bagong Silang here at 3:50 a.m.
He said the suspects fled on a gray Toyota Vios that they allegedly stole in Pulilan town, prompting the police to launch a hot pursuit operation against them. —Carmela Reyes-Estrope
