Manila Water adheres to service interruptions sched

Manila Water Co. Inc. on Friday said it achieved “100-percent adherence” to the schedule of rotational water service that it announced and started implementing on Oct. 24. Earlier this year, the Ayala group subsidiary drew flak for “not following the schedule they announced.”

Customers complained that their taps ran dry even before or beyond the announced schedule.

This time, during the first day of the return of service interruptions, Manila Water said it observed the schedule faithfully.

However, the company asked customers to report if they experienced “isolated cases of inaccurate interruptions,” so they could address the matter immediately.

The company said cutting back on the availability of water at the tap was necessary to ensure raw water supply will last through and beyond the summer of 2020.—Ronnel W. Domingo
