Magnitude 5.2 quake jolts Manay, Davao Oriental
MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 5.2 earthquake jolted Manay, Davao Oriental on Thursday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The earthquake struck 17 kilometers of Manay at 4:53 a.m.
The tremor was of tectonic origin, and had a 108-kilometer depth of focus.
Phivolcs said that the quake was also felt in other areas at various intensities:
- Reported Intensity II – General Santos City
- Instrumental Intensity III – Alabel, Sarangani
- Instrumental Intensity II – Tupi, South Cotabato; General Santos City
- Instrumental Intensity I – Kiamba, Saranga
No further damage was expected. However, residents in the area may expect aftershocks, Phivolcs added.
