Local legislator, media operator falls in entrapment vs Kapa scam
DIGOS CITY—Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested Davao del Sur Board Member Arvin Malaza in an entrapment operation on Wednesday, Sept. 18, inside the compound of his radio and television station here.
Malaza, popularly known as Jun Blanco, was caught receiving payment for Kapa Community Ministry International’s investment solicitation scheme, said NBI regional director Jonathan Balite.
Malaza was elected as provincial board member in the May 13, 2019 elections.
He is known to be among the media backers of Kapa in Davao del Sur.
After the entrapment operation, Malaza and three unidentified employees were brought to the NBI office in Davao City for questioning.
Although it figured prominently in the crackdown against investment scams ordered by President Rodrigo Duterte, Kapa seems to be bouncing back.
