Masked gunmen kill trader, wound wife in Cagayan town

TUGUEGARAO CITY-A trader was killed and his wife was wounded when two motorcycle-riding men shot them while they were in their pickup in Solana town, Cagayan province on Sunday (July 7), police said.

Investigators identified the fatality as Arnel Agustin, a resident of Barangay Sampaguita in Solana, Cagayan.

Police said the assailants, who wore ski masks, went to the driver’s side of the pickup and one of them fired seven times, hitting Arnel in the chest.

Agustin died instantly while his wife, Salvacion, was wounded and brought to the nearest hospital.

Forensics examiners found .45-caliber bullet shells at the crime scene.
