Duterte: ‘Smooth-sailing’ 5-minute travel from Cubao to Makati soon
MANILA, Philippines — “Just wait,” President Rodrigo Duterte said this as he vowed that traveling from Cubao, Quezon City to Makati City will be reduced to just five minutes.
“You just wait. Ayaw ko mag-ano but things will improve maybe God willing, December smooth sailing na. You don’t have to worry about traffic. Cubao and Makati is just about five minutes away,” Duterte said in an interview with Pastor Apollo Quiboloy’s program, “Give Us This Day” on Saturday.
According to Google Maps, the current travel time from Cubao to Makati via Edsa is 42 minutes.
At present, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) are aiming to improve traffic flow along Edsa and along other major Metro Manila roads by restricting the operation of UV express vehicles on a terminal-to-terminal basis and removing provincial bus terminals along Edsa.
