1 dead, 13 hurt as jeepney rams car in Zambales

SUBIC, Zambales – A passenger jeepney collided with a private car here on Tuesday morning, killing a woman and injuring 13 others.

Police identified the fatality as Giovanni Hipolito, 45, a worker inside the Subic Bay Freeport Zone and a resident of Barangay Agustin in Castillejos town.

Investigators said Hipolito was among the passengers of the jeepney, which swerved to the opposite lane before crashing into an oncoming car along the National Highway in Barangay Sto. Pamatawan about 5 a.m.

At least 12 other jeepney passengers were hurt in the accident while a bystander was also seriously injured when the car hit him. Joanna Rose Aglibot  (Editor: Leti Z. Boniol)
