Cebu cops celebrate Eid’l Fitr in Camp Sergio Osmeña
For the first time, policemen in Cebu gathered inside Camp Sergio Osmeña to celebrate Eid’l-Fitr, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
Ferdie Mohammad Arafat Lozano, former police and incumbent head of the Islamic Propagation Society in Cebu, was grateful for the move of the top officials of the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7) in gathering their Muslim brothers and sisters.
“First time in history. We pray that this will be repeated whoever the regional director will be,” said Lozano.
Although only a few policemen are Muslims, Lozano said they were happy to be given the chance to celebrate one of the most important celebrations in Islam.
More than 100 Muslims gathered in prayer inside Camp Sergio Osmeña.
“We’re very happy. It’s part of the unification process. We Muslims can be unified with Christians and because we only have one creator,” said Lozano.
