P1.15-B worth of ‘floating cocaine’ found in PH from February to April 2019

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported Tuesday that about P1.15 billion worth of “floating cocaine” were found in the Philippines’ municipal waters from February to April 2019.

PNP spokesperson Colonel Bernard Banac said a total of 217.3 kilograms of cocaine, with an estimated value of P1,153,074,226 were discovered from February to April 2019.

On Sunday, 40 bricks of cocaine were recovered in the municipal waters of Burgos in Surigao del Norte.

This was the most recent case of floating cocaine with a total of 15 recoveries as recorded by PNP. /ee
