Ex-vice mayor of Zamboanga del Sur town survives ambush
ZAMBOANGA CITY — A former vice mayor of Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur survived an attack while he was trying to urinate in Esperanza, Bacolod, Lanao del Norte on Wednesday morning.
Unidentified suspects riding a motorbike shot Naciancino Pacalioga Jr., 57, according to a spot report from the Lanao del Norte police.
Pacalioga got off from his car to urinate at a grassy area near the highway when the suspects approached and shot the former mayor several times.
Pacalioga was immediately brought to Iligan City for medical treatment.
Pacalioga was dismissed from the position of vice mayor in 2017 by the Office of the Ombudsman for serious dishonesty and falsification of official documents in connection with his Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net worth during his term as mayor in 2011, 2012 and 2014.
Pacalioga served as mayor from 2007 to 2016 and was elected vice mayor in May 2016 until he was dismissed in 2017.

“Everything is still sketchy,” he said.
