DID YOU KNOW: Metro Manila had most new HIV cases in Dec 2018

Based on the latest data from the Department of Health, Metro Manila posted the highest number of new human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) cases among all regions in December 2018.

Of the 877 new HIV cases reported nationwide during that month, 37 percent or 325 were from the National Capital Region, followed by Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) with 17 percent or 147 cases.

Central Luzon was third with 11 percent or 97 cases. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
