DID YOU KNOW: 11,427 new HIV cases recorded in 2018 by DOH

In 2018, there were 11,427 new human immunodeficiency virus cases (HIV) recorded nationwide.

In December alone, 877 cases were reported, according to the Department of Health.

The figure was slightly lower compared to the 993 cases recorded in the same month in 2017. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
