NCRPO seizes 238 firearms since start of gun ban
MANILA, Philippines — A total of 238 firearms were seized by police authorities since the start of gun ban in the country.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) earlier declared the gun ban period from January 13 to June 12 in order to ensure a safe midterm elections.

According to the data released by the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Saturday, 223 of which were recovered from those individuals who died during police operations.
Fifteen out of the 238, meanwhile, were confiscated during police checkpoint.
Data also showed that the highest number of seized firearms were from the area under the jurisdiction of the Southern Police District with 77 confiscated guns.

The said number was gathered through the monitoring of the NCRPO starting 12:01 a.m. of January 13 until 5 a.m. of February 23. /jpv
