5-year-old girl dies in Caloocan road accident

MANILA, Philippines — A five-year-old girl was killed after her head was accidentally ran over by a closed van in Caloocan City on Thursday night.

According to the Caloocan City police, the victim was playing at Tanigue St. in Samatad Compound when a certain Cesar Garana, 58, went to park the Isuzu closed van in the parking area of his house at about 8 p.m.

As Garana was about to park the van, police said the girl was accidentally hit by the vehicle’s left portion causing her to fall on the pavement. Police said her head was then ran over by the left rear tire of the van.

The victim was rushed to Caloocan City Medical Center by her mother but she died a few minutes later.

Police said Garana could face a complaint for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide. /muf
