Gov’t employee shot dead in Bohol

TAGBILARAN CITY, Philippines – A  government employee  was shot dead by still unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen in front of a store here on Sunday afternoon.

Police identified the victim as Jun Peter Bernaldez, a resident of Barangay Centro Cahayag.

Police said that at past 5 p.m. on Sunday, Bernaldez, a casual employee of the municipal government of Tubigon, was in the neighborhood store along the national highway in Barangay Centro Cahayag when  he was gunned down by the masked assailants, who sped off after the attack.

Eight spent shells fired from a .45 caliber pistol were recovered from the crime scene.
