Arroyo transfer to gov’t hospital set on Friday
MANILA, Philippines – The Pasay City Regional Trial Court ordered on Monday that former president and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo be transferred to the Veterans Memorial Medical Center on Friday.
The court, presided over by Judge Jesus Mupas, ruled out any more extensions for the stay of Mrs. Arroyo at the St. Luke’s Medical Center in Fort Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City.
Lawyers of Mrs. Arroyo earlier said the slippery flooring in the presidential suite’s bathroom at the VMMC should be fixed to prevent any accident involving the ill congresswoman, who has been arrested for election sabotage.
The lawyers said a bidet needed to be installed, while a knee-high enclosure at the shower had to be knocked down for Arroyo’s convenience.
A 990AM report added that the Arroyo camp has also asked the court to let their client have her own medical team treat her once she has been transferred to the government-owned hospital.
