5 hurt in bus accident along EDSA

MANILA, Philippines—Five people were injured after two buses figured in an accident right in front of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) building along EDSA Orense Monday morning, MMDA’s Alvin Pescador told INQUIRER.net.

Pescador said the MMDA’s security camera showed that the Lucena bus (KVA 766) hit the back of the Newman Goldliner bus (TXG 359) around 7 a.m.

He said that while there were recorded injuries, all of them were minor, including that of the driver of the Lucena bus who was trapped in his seat during the accident.

Those injured refused to be taken to a hospital, Pescador added.

The vehicles were cleared by responding officers at around 8:08 a.m., he said.
