Another vehicle flaunting No. 8 plate impounded
The Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group has impounded a van with the number 8 protocol plate, usually reserved for members of the House of Representatives, that was spotted near the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia).
Chief Supt. Roberto Fajardo, director of PNP-HPG, said a Hyundai Starex was confiscated by the police unit along Domestic Road in Pasay City on Saturday at around 3 p.m.
“When checked, [he] cannot present documents so the van was impounded for further verification and presentation of proper docs,” he told INQUIRER.net in a text message on Monday.

The crackdown on vehicles with the number 8 protocol plate was prompted by the video of musician Jojo Valerio, whose car with the same plate number figured in a road rage incident in Pampanga.
The video of the incident later went viral in social media, which led to the confiscation of Valerio’s Toyota FJ Cruiser on Friday.
