Despite being a known ally of President Rodrigo Duterte, senatorial aspirant Serge Osmeña said on Tuesday  he would not be seeking the President’s help to boost his survey rankings.

According to him, he is running as an independent candidate but said he would be thankful if the President will give his endorsement.

“I’m running as an independent eh so I don’t want to ask,” he said in an interview with ABS CBN News Channel.

Osmeña placed 11th among senatorial bets in a pre-election survey conducted by Pulse Asia in September.
