Alleged drug pusher slain in Lucena buy-bust
LUCENA CITY – A suspected drug pusher was killed after he allegedly resisted arrest in a buy-bust operation in Lucena City Monday night, police said.
Anti-illegal drugs operatives busted Ramil Romero, 49, after he sold P500 worth of shabu (crystal meth) to an undercover police officer in Barangay Dalahican around 8:50 p.m., said a report from Supt. Reydante Ariza, Lucena police chief.
But as the policeman was making the arrest, Romero reportedly resisted and shot the police officer using his caliber .38 revolver but missed his target.
Another policeman retaliated and returned fire fatally hitting Romero, who died on the spot.
Police said Romero was included in the local drug watch list and was tagged as one of the notorious peddlers of shabu in the coastal village.
