Guevarra: DOJ may consider placing Mangaoang under gov’t protection
Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said Customs Deputy Collector Ma. Lourdes Mangaoang may be placed under government’s protection.
“I have not seen the application subject to the Senate President’s approval upon recommendation of Sen. Richard Gordon,” Guevarra said in a text message to reporters on Sunday.
“I may consider her for provisional coverage under WPP (Witness Protection Program) in the meantime,” he added.
Under provisional coverage, only security will be provided by the government through the Department of Justice (DOJ).
Earlier, Mangaoang said she will file a request to be placed under the WPP.
