DOJ to wrap up review of Sister Fox’s appeal in 30 days
The Department of Justice will wrap up its review of the appeal filed by Australian missionary Sister Patricia Fox on the deportation order issued by the Bureau of Immigration (BI).
In a statement on Sunday, Justice Secretary Menardo Gueverra gave both parties 30 days to submit their memoranda.
“I have directed Sister Fox, through counsel and the BI, to submit their respective memoranda in the deportation case within a non-extendible period of 30 days,” Guevarra said.
With or without the memo, he said the DOJ will submit the case for resolution.
“After that period lapses, the DOJ will resolve Sister Fox’s appeal, with or without the memoranda,” he said.
In July, the BI ordered Fox to be deported for violating “the limitations and conditions in granting the missionary visa.”
