Grab Philippines is currently experiencing a “system downtime,” which has affected the fare computation of the ride hailing app, Grab’s Country Head Brian Cu said on Thursday.

In a Facebook post, Cu said that although their system is now down, Grab assures its drivers that the company will compensate them for the low fares.

“Tuloy tuloy lang na tanggapin ang mga bookings. Huwag mag-alala, sagot namin kayo. Grab ang bahala sa pagbawi sa kulang na fare,” Cu wrote.

In a statement obtained by INQUIRER.net, the ride-hailing company said the app is experiencing a glitch that affects the computation of fares.

Fares were down to the minimum on all services regardless of the overall distance of the trip, the company told INQUIRER.net in a text message when asked how low is the current fare of passengers.

GrabCar and GrabShare fares are at P80 while the six-seater fares are at P120 regardless of the distance of the trip.

Grab assured that allocation and cancellation rates of drivers will not be affected. The company also assured passengers that they are monitoring affected trips to ensure that none will be charged incorrectly.

“We would also like to assure drivers that their allocation and cancellation rates will not be affected. To our passengers, we are monitoring all affected trips to ensure that no one will be charged incorrectly,” the company said.

As of posting, Grab has not yet determined the exact time when the glitch happened to the app and what was the cause of the glitch.

The company apologized for the inconvenience and assured costumers that they are working to fix the glitch “as soon as possible.”  /muf
