Robredo to fly to US, Canada for speaking engagements
Vice President Leni Robredo will be flying to the United States and Canada on Friday for a series of speaking engagements, the Office of the Vice President (OVP) said.
“Vice President Leni Robredo is leaving for the United States and Canada on 12 October 2018 (Friday), for a series of engagements, including a speech before a top policy think tank based in Washington, D.C.,” the OVP said in a statement on Thursday.
According to the OVP, Robredo was invited to speak at a forum about issues in the Southeast Asia and Indo-Pacific region at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
“VP Leni will be delivering the keynote address at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) on 18 October 2018 (Thursday, Manila time), for the CSIS-Pertamina-Banyan Tree Leadership Forum and the US-Philippines Strategic Initiative, considered to be premier platforms for discussing issues that have significant impact on Southeast Asia and the Indo-Pacific,” OVP said.
Robredo’s trip will also include visiting the Filipino community in the areas she will visit, aside from meeting possible private sector partners for her anti-poverty program.
