Motorcycle-riding robbers killed in QC shootout

Two unidentified robbers aboard a motorcycle were killed after engaging in a firefight several members of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) on Wednesday night.

The QCPD said in its initial report that the female victim was waiting for a ride in Barangay San Antonio in Quezon City when one of the armed men pointed a gun at her and took her belongings.  The two then sped away along Roosevelt Avenue toward the direction of Muñoz area.

Upon receiving the complaint, operatives of the Masambong police station conducted a follow-up operation and spotted the two.  After a brief chase, authorities eventually cornered them, who alighted from the motorcycle and opened fire at the pursuing policemen.

The report added that the police officers returned fire hitting the two robbers, leading to their death.  A .38-caliber revolver and a .357-caliber revolver were recovered from the two robbers, including the unregistered motorcycle used in the crime.

Personnel from the Masambong police station said that there is an ongoing investigation to establish the identity the suspects. /jpv
