Bolo-wielding man shot dead in Batangas
SAN PEDRO CITY – A man was shot dead after attacking two police officers with a bolo in San Luis, Batangas early Wednesday.
The slain suspect was identified as Louie San Jose, a native of Bulacan province.
A report from the Calabarzon police said the incident happened around 12:30 a.m. in Barangay Banoyo.
A village councilor sought police help to pacify the commotion when San Jose allegedly started threatening residents with a bolo.
When the police arrived, the suspect attacked them, hitting SPO1 Jonathan Malaluan on his shoulder and knee, and PO3 Mark Raymond Cabesuela on his hand.
The police said Malaluan was forced to shoot the suspect hitting him on the back.

It was not immediately clear what prompted San Jose’s actions, but a desk officer at the San Luis police, who requested anonymity for lack of authority to speak to the media, said the man “had a history of mental illness” as observed by the villagers.# Maricar Cinco, @maricarcincoINQ,
