The Inter-agency Council for Traffic (I-ACT) recorded on Wednesday the biggest number of vehicles flagged down in a single day due to different road and traffic violations.

This came after the I-ACT accosted about 156 vehicles during Wednesday’s operation aimed to rid the streets of violations ranging from colorum, smoke belching and others.

The Tanggal Bulok, Tanggal Usok (TBTU) campaign of the agency and the Anti-colorum operation were conducted along Pan-Philippine Highway, SM City North, and at Masinag in Antipolo, Rizal.

Meanwhile, the sidewalk clearing, illegal parking, and road worthiness operations were conducted at Santolan, and at the 2nd and 4th avenues in Camp Crame.

The inter-agency report also showed that about 50 tickets were issued during the operation for vehicles still using defective spare parts–like busted break and headlights, among others–and other violations.

The I-ACT added that 88 vehicles were impounded for illegal parking and colorum violations to name a few.

A total of 18 subpoenas for smoke belching violation were also issued to violators, the I-ACT report added.

The agency, however, noted that no vehicle was clamped down during the operation.

Since the start of the agency’s TBTU campaign and anti-colorum operations in 2017, I-ACT has flagged down a total of 3,205 vehicles. /jpv
